Major Requirements

Women's Studies Program Degree Program, 2010-2012 Undergraduate Catalog

Admission Requirements: Students are eligible to enter the Women's Studies Program as a major or minor as soon as formally admitted to UNLV.

Degree Requirements: Students majoring in Women's Studies must earn a minimum of 120 credit hours. In addition to University and College of Liberal Arts general education requirements, Women's Studies majors must take a minimum of 37 credits in Women's Studies courses, (1-2) plus 3 credits from an approved list of multicultural courses (3) and 6 credits in a foreign language.(4) See catalog for complete listing of requirements.

Because this is a rapidly expanding program, new courses are constantly being developed. 3. 3 credits from an approved list of multicultural courses. This requirement may simultaneously fill the university general education requirements, but must be in addition to courses required for the major. The list of these courses is updated regularly.

4. Six credits in a foreign language. These credits must be sequential and must be taken in the same language. Neither a computer language nor American Sign Language will fulfill this requirement.

5. For a minor, students must complete a minimum of 22 hours in Women's Studies courses, including:
