Alicia Rico is Associate Professor of Spanish at the University of Nevada Las Vegas. She received her licenciatura from the University of Alicante, Spain, master and doctorate from the University of Kansas. She teaches advanced grammar, literature surveys and topics courses on different aspects of Mexican and Spanish culture and literature. At the graduate level she teaches Mexican and Spanish literature and SPAN 709 (Writing Workshop), one of the core courses for the Master in Hispanic Studies. Her research focuses mainly on the representation of women and women's issues in modern Mexican and Spanich literature.
