2011 French Awards

In a recent College of Liberal Arts Award Ceremony, Emily Wilson received the American Association of Teachers of French Outstanding Senior Award (UNLV).Emily, along with Brian Myer, Lynndee Oguma, Courtney Milko and Shaylee Nelson, are recent International Programs scholarship recipients.

2010 French Awards

In a recent College of Liberal Arts Award Ceremony, Caroline O'Donnell received the American Association of Teachers of French Outstanding French Major Award (UNLV). Vivian Martin, a Romance Languages major (French and Italian) was selected as the Outstanding Graduating Major in French Studies.

Ms. Barbara Slivac

In Spring 2009, Ms. Barbara Slivac generously donated her library of approximately 150 volumes of French literature and literary criticism to the Department of Foreign Languages. These volumes are available to students in the Language Resource Center, FDH 240.

Erin Smith

Foreign Languages Staff

Erin Smith, the 2008 Outstanding French Studies Major Award recipient, with her grandparents at the May 2009 College of Liberal Arts' graduation reception. Erin graduated from the UNLV Honors College with a double major in Interdisciplinary Studies (Linguistics) and French. She is current completing a competitive internship at Linguistlist at Eastern Michigan University and hopes to begin graduate studies in English Linguistics in Fall 2009.

Alex Mendes

Alex Mendes, the 2009 Outstanding French Studies Minor Award recipient and a departmental Romance Languages major, will continue his studies in French and Spanish as a graduate student at the University of Nevada, Reno, beginning in Fall 2009.
